During and after we were hit with that random snowstorm & while there was still snow on the ground I was craving cooked foods over raw foods. Well, now that the snow has melted away and the temperatures have spontaneously increased, my body is screaming that it only wants uncooked foods. Perhaps the weather change and appetite change were coincidental, but then again, perhaps they do coincide. Anyway, I was feeling rather sluggish and foggy after Hurricane Sandy strolled on in and the snow covered over the last leaves of fall …. so, I decided to do somewhat of a detox. I don’t think I could possibly eat any healthier than I do on a daily basis, so in saying that, this ‘detox’ is/was simply having raw foods instead of cooked until.. well, until I want them again.
Prior to my raw food cravings I had made a couple of dishes filled with carotene galore. Carotene-filled foods are a real blessing in the winter months when we tend to not get as much sun because they can possibly provide you with a little nature coloring (depending on each individual). Personally, the bottom of my feet get a slight orange tint when I eat a lot of orange foods. Awkward.
