This “Golden Milk,” or, “Turmeric Tonic,” is one of my favorite elixirs. I find that drinking it on cool evenings is particularly soothing. Many people acknowledge turmeric as an herb with many health benefits. I personally drink (or eat) turmeric root because of the compound called curcumin.
– 1 cup almond milk (or your choice of dairy or non dairy milk)
– 1 TBS coconut oil, cream, whole milk, butter, or ghee
– 1 tsp turmeric
– 1 tsp ginger
– 1 tsp cinnamon
– dash of black pepper
*optional: sweetener of choice*
Mix or blend all ingredients together. Heat in a sauce pan for 5 minutes over medium heat. Enjoy warm.
